Katrina Farley, a managing partner of Santen & Hughes, practices primarily in the areas of estate and tax planning and estate, trust, and guardianship administration. She is an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trusts, and Probate Law.
Katrina frequently meets with clients to formulate an estate plan which meets their specific goals for their families while also minimizing or deferring taxes, as well as avoiding the probate process. The estate planning documents prepared by her are both complete and comprehensible.
With a former background in litigation, Katrina has developed a niche in the area of probate litigation. She has experience representing litigants in actions involving the contests of wills, interpretations of trusts as well as contested guardianship proceedings. She also has significant other related litigation experience including but not limited to personal injury litigation. Katrina’s litigation background helps assist her in the drafting of estate planning documents with an eye toward avoiding future litigation.
She has lectured for the Cincinnati Bar Association and other professional and public groups on estate planning and probate-related topics. She has also co-authored articles concerning estate planning which were published by a national professional publication. On numerous occasions, she has been named as an “Ohio Super Lawyer” as well as being named among the Best Lawyers in Southern Ohio and The Best Lawyers in America. In 2014, Katrina went through a peer review process via Martindale-Hubbell which resulted in her receiving the highest rating possible which is an AV Preeminent rating.
